Romano x Reader - More Than Friends

You have been close friends with Lovino Vargas for many years now. You had met the short tempered Italian when you were only five years of age.
The two of hit it off from the start by being the only kindergarteners on the playground who knew how to curse. Over the years the two of you have stuck together through both thick and thin, whether it be bullies, or bad grades.

You climbed out of your bed and let out a loud yawn. Glancing at your clock you saw the numbers '8:00 am' blinking back at you. Heaving out a sigh you ran one hand through your _h/c_ hair while reaching with the other to pick up your cell phone. Clicking the on button, the screen lights up, and you smile at your back ground, it was a picture of you and your close friend Lovi, your heads were touching, and you had a wide grin while Lovi had a stubborn scowl covering his mug.

Just as you were about to set your phone back down, you felt it vibrate in your hand as the screen resumed it's previously lit state. You saw that Lovino had just sent you a text message. With a small smile on your face, you clicked the message and began to read.

'Hey _y/n_, I know it's Saturday but there's something that's been bugging me lately and my idiot brother suggested that I asked you for help. Can ya come over asap?'  

Whatever it was that he needed help with, you were happy that he decided to ask you. You had just recently become aware of your more than friends feelings for your friend Lovino, you loved his soft hair and the way the light shined off of his olive skin.

Although you two were now in your early twenties you had yet to confess your love.

After a few knocks Lovino opened the door with an uncharacteristic grin. But he quickly turned it to his usual glum gaze.

He ushered you to sit on the couch in his living room. He took a seat next to you and gave a deep sigh. You turned your head so that you were looking directly at him,
"What's the matter Lovi? You seem...hm..different than usual. Maybe it's the cussing, yeah, that's it!"

Lovino scrunched his eyebrows and slowly made eye contact with you.

"I know this is really sudden, and early in the morning, and weird, and I'm acting strange, and-" "Lovi!" you quickly cut him off, "get to the point! Come on, you're kind of freaking me out."
Lovino rubbed the back of his head and cleared his throat, he suddenly stood up,
"_y/n_, we have known one another for many years and over those years I have realized how beautiful you are both physically and as a person. I fell in love with you the moment you cussed at me back when we were five, for stealing your snack. And I cannot believe that it took me this long to realize that the moment I stole that snack, you stole my heart. _Y/n_ _m/n_ _l/n_, will you continue to steal my heart every moment for the rest of our lives, and marry me?"
You looked at him with tears in your eyes, as you slowly shook your head 'yes'.
